It was a simple moment—but one I’ll never forget.
It was a Wednesday evening at the farm, and Carol, one of our dedicated side-walkers, arrived wearing a pink shirt. Someone casually remarked, “Well, don’t you look pink this evening!”
Without missing a beat, Carol smiled and said, “Yes, I wear pink of any shade—for my girl. I wear it for her.”
Her “girl” is Emberley, the participant she walks beside and supports each week. That small gesture—choosing to wear a color just for her—speaks volumes about the kind of care and connection that lives here at Horses with Hearts.
Carol isn’t the only one. Our volunteers don’t just show up—they invest. They learn the little things. They celebrate the wins. They pay attention to what makes each rider feel seen, safe, and special.
It’s these quiet, thoughtful moments that reveal the heart of this place.
Horses with Hearts is built on more than horses and riding lessons. It’s built on people—like Carol—who give their time, their hearts, and sometimes even their favorite colors, to remind each rider that they matter deeply.
We are endlessly grateful for every single volunteer who walks alongside us.
